OUR HISTORY

ESTABLISHED IN 2007

The Greater Annapolis Design District was established in 2007 by several businesses located within the industrial area of Annapolis, located off Chinquapin Round Road.

Originally titled the Annapolis Design District, the notion behind our organization was a simple one – to build a “cool” urban neighborhood where leading design and build companies, artists and other innovative and entrepreneurial businesses could create and collaborate.

FROM THE EASTERN SHORE TO BALTIMORE

Our founding members have remained active in the Greater Annapolis Design District over the past decade.

Our grassroots, community-based approach to the Design District has attracted other businesses to join over the years and membership has grown to become a diverse mix of businesses, property owners, retailers and service providers.

While the hub of the Greater Annapolis Design District remains within Annapolis, the reach of our independent member businesses spans from the Eastern Shore to Baltimore and Washington, DC.

In 2019, we officially changed our name to the “Greater” Annapolis Design District.
