Explore the Lutron Showroom & National Building Museum

Monday, October 27th | Washington, DC

GADD members are invited to join us for an inspiring day trip to Washington, D.C. featuring two exciting stops that highlight the best in lighting, architecture, and design!

🕤 Schedule & Transportation

  • Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the New Carrollton Metro Station.
  • We’ll take the Orange Line to L’Enfant Plaza, then transfer to the Yellow/Green Line to Gallery Place.
  • Metro parking is available for $4/day, and riders can now tap to pay using a credit card or mobile device (no Metrocard needed).
  • You can also download the Metro app to load funds and pay directly.

🛋️ First Stop – Lutron Studio (10:30 a.m.)

Enjoy brunch-style refreshments and a private tour of the Lutron Studio, where innovative lighting and shading solutions come to life in a stunning showroom experience.

🏛️ Second Stop – National Building Museum (12:15 p.m.)

At 12:15 p.m., we’ll head to the National Building Museum to explore its galleries until 1:30 p.m., when we’ll enjoy a private docent-led tour. The museum celebrates architecture, design, engineering, and construction through immersive exhibits and hands-on experiences that inspire creativity and curiosity.

  • GADD will cover the docent tour fee for attendees.
  • Attendees are responsible for the $10 museum admission fee.

🚆 Return Trip

After the tour, attendees can walk back to Gallery Place and return via Metro to New Carrollton — or make their own arrangements if preferred.

Flexibility:

Join us for the full day, or meet us at either at the Lutron Studio or at the Museum — whichever fits your schedule best!
