Our history

In 2007, several leading Chinquapin Round Road design and build companies, artists and innovative entrepreneurs built their own “cool urban neighborhood,” where they could create and collaborate.

A grassroots, community-based approach grew the Annapolis Design District into a diverse mix of founding businesses, property owners, retailers and service providers — who are all still active members today.

Renamed the Greater Annapolis Design District in 2019, we now boast memberships and sponsorships drawing from Annapolis, the Eastern Shore, Baltimore and Washington, DC.
