Join HD Squared Architects and Richard Hammond Builders TODAY through WEDNESDAY for the lifting of the Historic Burtis House on City Dock!
The Expert House Lifter crews are setting up TODAY (Monday, Dec. 2) with the lift expected to be Tuesday afternoon into possibly Wednesday, Dec. 4th. The pace and exact timing are unknown, so just come by when you can to see the progress and process of lifting a building out of constant flooding and sea level rise. Parking near the Susan Cambell Park is best.
This is Step One of the Annapolis City Dock resiliency efforts led by Preservation Maryland and the team at HD Squared Architects. The Burtis House will be lifted to a transitional height to prevent further flooding until additional steps are taken on City Dock to allow the Burtis House to be placed in its ultimate finished floor height of 8.5’ above sea level.
