On Tuesday, July 19, Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) hosted the Greater Annapolis Design District (GADD) for a tour of the Claus0n Center for Innovation and Skilled Trades.
The Clauson Center was made possible strictly through donations and contributes to the AACC workforce development efforts. The Clauson Center also provides solutions to address the growing need for skilled trade workers in our community and help people establish rewarding careers in the skilled trades.
The 12,000 square foot center on the AACC campus was consciously designed to easily expand to accommodate future programs for adapting to job market demands. Currently, the center offers six inaugural programs in electrical, forklift operator, HVAC, plumbing, welding, and finished carpentry.
The purpose of AACC’s workforce development program(s) is to help support the needs of the local economy and businesses while helping people start successful careers.
The opportunity to tour the Clauson Center continues to strengthen the relationship between AACC and the Greater Annapolis Design District (GADD). The Greater Annapolis Design District (GADD) is working to develop future scholarships for AACC students in the skilled trades and architecture departments.
