Students from Anne Arundel Community College’s (AACC) Architecture, Interior Design and Construction Management program who entered the 2018 Student Design Competition were tasked with designing a mobile information “Hub” to be used to provide storage for supplies, power access for events, and perhaps function as a transportable display for the ADD.  Winners of the competition were announced at the Membership Drive kickoff event held at Union Jack’s on October 25, 2018.

Shown are winners (1st and 3rd Place) Jonathan “Jat” Thompson [left] and (2nd Place) Mark Davis [right].  Janet Haddock [far left], AACC’s Instructional Specialist of Interior Design, organized and supervised the competition.  Thank you to NKBA, AACC, and AJ Eckert (ADD Business Member, Coldwell Banker) who gifted the prizes of $500, $300, and $200 to the winners.  And thank you to the judges who volunteered to review the submissions and select the winning entries.

Jat is a student in the AACC Interior Design Program.  Mark is in the AACC Architecture Program, serves as the AIA Student Chapter President, and recently won 1st place in a national architecture competition.  Congratulations to both winners and thank you for submitting your exemplary work into “The Hub” 2018 Student Design Competition.

Jat will be working with a licensed architect to develop the construction documents necessary to implement his design.  We hope to see construction of “The Hub” begin during the summer of 2019.
